Can I - 25There’s no end to the possibilities of the cocktails you can create – it’s up to you and your imagination and taste.  A favorite at weddings is for the bride and groom to create a signature drink.  We have picked the brains of our best friends, researched cocktails in books, at beverage stores, and scoured the internet to compile the most complete listing of drinks we possibly can find.  Do we have them all?  No!  The possibilities are endless, but we will outline and provide recipes for both the classic cocktails and will edit this site as we become aware of the latest and greatest new innovations on age-old favorites.  Your input is always welcome here.  Email us at:                               So let’s get going with your source for mixed drinks.

 

BELLINI

  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 oz. peach Schnapps
  • 2 ox. peach nectar
  • 3 oz. dry champagne, chilled
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice

Mix first three ingredients in a chilled glass.  Add crushed ice.  Finish with champagne.  Recipe above makes 2 cocktails

 

BLOODY MARY

  • 0.5 oz. lemon juice
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • red hot sauce
  • green hot sauce
  • dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 3 oz. tomato juice
  • celery salt
  • celery stick

In a small pitcher or large glass mix all ingredients except celery salt and celery stick.  Stir till well blended.  Salt the rim of a highball glass with the celery salt.  Add ice then strain the mixture into the glass and garnish with the celery stick.

 

CAIPIRINHA

  • 1-1/2 oz. vodka
  • 1-1/2 oz. limeade
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 lime
  • ice cubes
  • 2 spoonfuls crushed ice

Cut lime into chunks and add sugar, then place in cocktail glass.  Mash limes and sugar against the sides of the glass and add ice cubes, then crushed ice.  Add vodka, then limeade.  Stir until well blended.

 

COSMOPOLITAN

  • 1/2 oz. triple sec
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. cranberry juice
  • 1 oz vodka
  • ice
  • lime wedge

Combine triple sec, lime and cranberry juices, and vodka in a shaker.  Add ice and shake until well mixed.  Strain the drink into a martini glass and add a lime wedge if desired.

 

CUBA LIBRE

  • 2 oz. light rum
  • juice squeezed from 1/2 lime
  • cola
  • ice cubes
  • lime wedge

Add ice cubes to a highball glass, then squeeze the juice from the lime over them.  Add rum and fill glass with cola.

 

DAIQUIRI

  • 1/4 to 1/2 oz. sugar syrup
  • 3/4 oz. lime juice
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • ice cubes

In shaker, add ice cubes, sugar syrup, lime juice and rum.  Shake until mixed well.  Strain drink into chilled glass.

 

HARVEY WALLBANGER

 

HOT SCOTCH

  • Hot chocolate
  • 1 shot butterscotch schnapps
  • Whipped cream

To a cup of hot chocolate add butterscotch schnapps and top with whipped cream to taste

Variety – Peppermint schnapps

 

LONG ISLAND ICED TEA

 

MAI TAI

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 oz. lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. orange juice
  • 1/2 oz. lemon juice
  • 3/4 oz. triple sec
  • 1-1/2 oz. dark rum
  • 1-1/2 oz. white rum
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • ice cubes

Add all ingredients to glass, stir well.  Add more sugar for a sweeter drink.

 

MAI TAI (Amaretto Mai Tai)

  • Club soda
  • 1/2 oz. amaretto liqueur
  • 1 oz. triple sec
  • 1 oz. orange juice
  • 1 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1-1/2 oz. grenadine
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • 2 oz. dark rum
  • ice cubes

Add ice cubes to highball glass, then add remaining ingredients.  Stir to blend and serve

 

MANHATTAN

  • Dash of bitters
  • 1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 oz. dry vermouth
  • 2 oz. blended whisky
  • ice

Put ice into glass, then add remaining ingredients.  Swirl to chill and blend.  Strain into martini glass and garnish with olive or maraschino cherry, if desired.

 

MARGARITA

  • 1-1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1-1/2 ox. orange liqueur
  • 2 0z. tequila
  • 2 oz. triple sec
  • 4 oz. sweet and sour drink mix
  • salt
  • ice cubes

Fill shaker half full of ice.  Add all other ingredients and shake until well mixed.  Salt the rim of a margarita glass and strain mixture and pour into glass.  Serve.

 

MARTINI (including variations – which are endless)

  • 1/2 oz. dry vermouth
  • 2-1/2 oz. gin
  • ice
  • green olive

Place handful of ice into shaker, pour in gin and vermouth and stir (not James Bond shaken) for 30 seconds and strain into martini glass.  Add olive for garnish.

Variations:

  • Dirty Martini – include a splash of olive brine (from the jar) into the mix
  • Vodka Martini – add vodka in place of the gin
  • Dry Martini – vermouth is what makes it dry – use less vermouth
  • Gibson Martini – use a cocktail onion in place of the olive
  • Perfect Martini – use half the amount of dry vermouth and add equal part of sweet vermouth

 

MOJITO

  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 0.5 oz. lime juice
  • 1.25 oz. spiced rum
  • 2 oz. soda water
  • 15 mint leaves (reserve 3 for garnish)
  • crushed ice
  • muddler or pestle for grinding

Place 12 mint leaves into the glass and add everything except the soda water.  Crush the mint leaves while mixing the other ingredients.  Finally, add the soda water and garnish with remaining mint leaves.

 

PINA COLADA

  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1-1.2 oz. light rum
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • 2 oz. cream of coconut
  • Pineapple slice (for garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Add all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth.  Pour drink into a glass and garnish with pineapple slice and Maraschino cherry

 

SCREWDRIVER

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 3 oz. orange juice
  • 3 oz. apple juice
  • Orange slice (for garnish)

Pour orange juice into a glass.  Add vodka.  Add apple juice last.  Stir lightly and garnish with orange slice

Variation:

  • Rum Screwdriver – replace vodka with rum

 

SINGAPORE SLING

  • Dash of bitters
  • 1/4 oz. Benedictine herbal liqueur
  • 1/4 oz. orange liqueur
  • 1/3 oz. grenadine
  • 1/2 oz. cherry brandy
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1 oz. gin
  • 4 oz. pineapple juice
  • ice
  • Pineapple slice (for garnish)
  • Cherry (for garnish)

Combine all ingredients (except garnishes) in shaker filled with ice.  Shake until shaker is frosted.  Strain drink into glass and garnish.

 

WHISKEY SOUR

  • 1/2 tsp. powderedsugar
  • 1/2 lemon (for juice)
  • 2 oz. whiskey
  • ice
  • 1/2 lemon slice
  • Cherry

Add whiskey, lemon juice and powdered sugar to shaker with ice.  Shake, then strain into whiskey glass and garnish with lemon slice and cherry.

 

WHITE RUSSIAN

  • 1 oz. coffee liqueur
  • 2 oz. vodka
  • light cream
  • ice cubes

In a glass place ice cubes, pour in liqueur and vodka.  Finish by filling the glass with light cream.

Variation:

  • The Christmas Russian – 2 shot coffee liqueur, 1 shot vodka, milk to fill, 1 shot peppermint schnapps and ice
